In 1998 the Minnesota and Wisconsin PGA Sections formed an event called the Minnesota-Wisconsin PGA Junior Cup Matches. The event would consist of the two sections selecting a team of 12 boys and 12 girls to represent their section in a Ryder Cup team-type event. The formats used are four-ball matches and individual singles matches. One point is awarded for winning a match outright and half a point is awarded for a tie. The Minnesota Section has won the matches nine times; the Wisconsin Section has won twelve times and tied once.
